Quality Assurance Specialist (Automation Focus)
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist (Automation Focus) to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through a strong mix of manual testing and test automation. Your keen attention to detail, analytical mindset, and passion for building scalable QA practices will be essential in maintaining our standards of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design) to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects and usability issues.
- Perform thorough testing across multiple levels, including functional, regression, integration, end-to-end (E2E), performance, and security testing.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (UI/API) to improve test coverage, efficiency, and release confidence.
- Build and evolve automated testing frameworks/tools (e.g., Playwright/Selenium + pytest), including test data management, reporting, and failure triage.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback loops.
- Document and communicate test results, defects, and quality risks clearly; drive issue tracking from discovery to closure.
- Continuously monitor, measure, and improve QA processes (e.g., flaky test reduction, test coverage metrics, release quality indicators).
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in quality engineering and test automation.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a QA Specialist / QA Engineer / SDET (or similar role).
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Hands-on experience in automated testing is required, including:
- Building and maintaining automated tests using pytest, Playwright and/or Selenium
- Writing reliable, maintainable test code and applying good engineering practices (e.g., code review, modular design)
- Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases for complex software applications.
- Familiarity with functional, regression, performance, and security testing; ability to choose appropriate test types for risk areas.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in bug lifecycle management (reporting, tracking, validation). Hands-on experience with JIRA (or similar) is required.
- Experience testing APIs (REST/GraphQL) using tools or frameworks (e.g., Postman, pytest requests) is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integrating automated tests is a strong plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with test reporting tools (e.g., Allure) and test management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to efficiently generate robust functional test cases and automated testing scripts.
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and cross-browser compatibility testing.
