Job Description

Required Qualifications:

● 6+ years of experience in software testing/quality engineering

● 3+ years leading QA teams or acting as QA Lead

● Strong hands-on experience with:

○ Test automation

○ Designing test matrices across multiple OS versions, hardware

configurations, and storage targets

○ Regression strategy

● Experience reviewing requirements and identifying testing risks early

● Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

● Experience mentoring junior and mid-level QA engineers

● Comfortable working in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities

● Good communication skills in English

Desired Qualifications:

● Hands-on testing experience with backup/recovery products

● Experience with cloud platforms, backup/storage products, virtualization, or

infrastructure-related software

● Experience improving release quality and reducing defect leakage

● Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) to improve

QA workflows

● Experience building automation frameworks or improving testing architecture

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Ownership

● Own release quality for your product/team

● Define testing scope based on risk, timelines, and business priorities

● Ensure only production-ready features are released

● Participate actively in planning, requirement reviews, and release discussions

● Identify quality risks early and drive mitigation plans

2. Team Leadership

● Lead and mentor QA engineers across manual and automation testing

● Create a strong culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement

● Improve team efficiency and execution quality

3. Testing & Automation

● Define and improve regression strategies

● Drive automation for UI, API, and integration testing

● Improve CI/CD quality workflows and release confidence

● Optimize test execution time while maintaining meaningful coverage

● Support exploratory, risk-based, and customer-focused testing approaches

4. Customer & Product Focus

● Work closely with Product, DEV, and Support teams

● Analyze production defects and customer feedback to improve test coverage

● Drive root-cause analysis and defect prevention practices

● Focus on customer-perceived quality, not only internal QA metrics

5. Process & Continuous Improvement

● Help establish practical QA processes that teams actually follow

● Track quality KPIs and testing effectiveness

● Improve release readiness, test planning, and defect management

● Introduce AI-assisted QA workflows where they provide real value
