ROLE PURPOSE

The QA/QC Technician Intern will support the QA/QC team in researching, updating and implementing food safety and regulatory requirements for both the Vietnam domestic market and export markets (US-FDA and EU), including emerging regulations such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The role also supports the review and maintenance of specifications for ingredients, packaging and finished products, as well as the preparation of self-declarations and label content, to ensure compliance with applicable market regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

Regulatory Research & Compliance

  • Research and update Vietnam, US-FDA and EU food regulations relevant to the company's products, including emerging requirements such as PPWR and other market-specific regulations.
  • Build and maintain a master data file consolidating applicable regulations by market and product category.
  • Organize and save regulation reference files on SharePoint, ensuring version control and easy access for internal users.
  • Present and provide training to internal users (QA, NPD, Production, Purchasing) on new or updated regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively alert relevant departments of upcoming compliance deadlines.

Specification Management

  • Review and update specifications for ingredients, packaging materials and finished products to ensure compliance with Vietnam, US-FDA and EU requirements.
  • Compare supplier specifications and supplier/factory production capability against regulatory requirements to identify gaps and risks.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production and NPD to align specifications with both supplier capability and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and update specification records in the document management system.

Self-Declaration & Labeling Compliance

  • Support the preparation and review of self-declarations for products destined for Vietnam, US-FDA and EU markets.
  • Review label content (ingredient list, nutrition facts, claims, allergen declarations, etc.) to ensure compliance with applicable market regulations.
  • Coordinate with Marketing/NPD to update labels and artwork in line with regulatory changes.

Cross-functional Support

  • Support the QA/QC team in daily quality-related tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Participate in internal audits/reviews related to regulatory and specification compliance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in food technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong research and self-learning skills, with a detail-oriented and careful working style.
  • Good English skills: able to read and understand regulatory/technical documents in English; basic written communication.
  • Implement AI solutions to improve the speed and efficiency of documentation tasks while adapting to practical business needs.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); willing to learn and work with SharePoint.
  • Able to commit to the internship for at least 4-6 months.
  • Proactive, responsible, able to work independently and meet deadlines.

PREFERABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic knowledge of or coursework related to Vietnam, EU and US-FDA food regulations.
  • Familiarity with GFSI standards (FSSC 22000, BRC, HACCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with regulatory research projects, theses, or related academic work.
  • Confident presentation skills and willingness to conduct training sessions for internal users.

Working time: Monday - Friday

Working location: Marou Factory: Lot D1, D2, Road No. 3, Binh Chieu Industrial Park, Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City, HCMC.
