About The Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong experience in both automated and manual testing, along with hands-on functional experience working with AI-powered applications and technologies.
This role is critical to ensuring products meet high standards for quality, reliability, and user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software testing practices, experience validating AI-driven functionality, and the ability to identify potential risks and edge cases unique to AI-enabled systems.
You will work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to design and execute test strategies, build automated test solutions, validate AI functionality, and champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and potential risks.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing scenarios.
- Perform manual testing for exploratory, usability, and edge-case scenarios.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and overall product quality.
Test Automation
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites across UI, API, and regression testing.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to provide continuous quality feedback.
- Monitor automated test results and ensure failures are investigated and addressed efficiently.
Defect Tracking & Reporting
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using issue management tools.
- Partner with development teams to reproduce issues, troubleshoot root causes, and validate fixes.
- Provide clear reporting on test coverage, quality metrics, and overall testing trends.
Quality Advocacy
- Participate in design reviews, backlog discussions, and sprint planning to identify potential issues early in the development process.
- Promote best practices around testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Recommend process enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce defects.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience testing AI-powered applications, features, or workflows.
- Functional understanding of AI concepts, including evaluating AI outputs, identifying limitations, and validating AI-driven functionality.
- Strong experience creating and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
- Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or comparable solutions.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing machine learning models, AI assistants, automation workflows, or AI-driven applications.
- Experience developing QA strategies for products incorporating emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation methods, prompt testing, and AI reliability best practices.
- Experience improving test automation frameworks and quality processes.
