Role Overview
1. Quality Strategy & Leadership
• Define and drive QA strategy, test approach, and quality metrics in collaboration
with Product and Engineering.
• Establish and maintain testing standards, templates, and best practices across
teams.
• Act as a quality advocate in sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, review,
retrospective), identifying risks early and influencing delivery decisions.
• Mentor junior/mid-level QA members; review test artifacts and provide guidance.
2. Testing & Quality Execution
• Translate business requirements and user stories into comprehensive test plans,
scenarios, and cases.
• Lead execution of Functional, Regression, Integration, and Smoke/Sanity testing;
own UAT quality.
• Validate fixes, ensure defects are properly resolved, and confirm release readiness.
3. Defect Management, Release & Risk
• Own defect triage: prioritize, analyze root causes, and ensure high-quality fixes
before release.
• Define and enforce quality gates for releases; conduct release readiness reviews.
• Lead post-release verification and coordinate hotfix validation when needed.
4. Process Improvement & Automation Direction
• Analyze defect trends and propose preventive actions to improve product quality
and testability.
• Define the test automation direction and roadmap (where applicable) and guide
implementation.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve CI/CD quality checks and release
governance.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (Manual+Automation)
• Proven experience owning release quality and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Strong expertise in test design, test planning, reporting, and risk-based testing.
• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test management
practices.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, and modern QA methodologies.
• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear stakeholder
communication.
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Experience in SaaS / web or mobile products.
• Experience with API testing, basic SQL for data validation.
• Strong interest or background in test manual and test automation (e.g., Cypress, Playwright,
Selenium).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, performance, security, or accessibility testing.
