Department Overview

The Embedded AI group designs, develops, and evaluates advanced computer vision models, algorithms, and AI applications integrated into cameras and security video servers. Our solutions power key products from Motorola's leading brands including Avigilon, Pelco, and Alta, delivering intelligent and efficient customer experiences. Collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, and cloud teams, we ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of AI-driven technologies in cutting-edge security systems.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled QA Automation Technical Manager to lead our embedded video AI quality assurance efforts.

This role involves designing, implementing, and managing automated testing strategies for cutting-edge AI-powered video solutions, ensuring the delivery of robust and reliable products.

Job Description:

  • Lead and mentor a team of QA automation engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive automation test strategies and frameworks for embedded video AI systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing. Define and track key quality metrics, reporting on progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with embedded software development, AI/ML engineering, and product teams to integrate quality assurance throughout the product development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for functional, performance, reliability, and security testing of embedded video AI applications.
  • Drive the selection and implementation of appropriate QA automation tools and technologies.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects, working with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in QA automation, embedded systems, and AI.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for the QA automation team.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Physics, or equivalent experience from a technical engineering discipline.
  • Experience leading a small team, evaluating performance and managing direct reports successfully.
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing a team of quality automation engineers.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive quality assurance strategies and automation frameworks for complex software and hardware systems.
  • Expertise in developing and authoring C++, Python and Javascript automation software to test individual software components, web-enabled embedded hardware, IoT, and/or Robotics.
  • Strong background in cloud-connected applications with platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, and computer vision technologies, and their application in quality assurance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, think critically, and drive timely resolution of critical quality issues.
  • Highly organized, creative, and curious, with the ability to multi-task and thrive in an autonomous, empowering, and exciting environment.
