Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Python / Django Developer with 2+ years of production experience to build scalable, robust, and high-performance backend systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and deploying RESTful APIs, optimizing complex database interactions via Django ORM and PostgreSQL, and maintaining clean architecture.

Candidates who possess hands-on exposure to DevOps automation or AI/LLM integration will have a strong competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain secure backend logic and web services using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Database Management & Optimization: Model relational database schemas and write efficient queries using Django ORM and PostgreSQL. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, including $N+1$ query problems, indexing strategies, and database locks.
• API Development & Integration: Build clean, versioned, and well-documented RESTful APIs for frontend consumption and third-party integrations.
• System Architecture & Performance: Implement caching layers (e.g., Redis/Memcached), asynchronous task processing (e.g., Celery), and secure authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT).
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write maintainable unit, integration, and functional tests using pytest or standard Django test suites to ensure high code reliability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, system administrators, and product managers to deliver features end-to-end.

Required Technical Qualifications

• Core Experience: Minimum 2+ years of professional backend software development experience using Python and Django.
• Frameworks: Expertise in Django REST Framework (DRF) for building REST APIs
• Database & ORM Mastery:
• Deep understanding of Django ORM (QuerySets, select_related, prefetch_related, custom managers, aggregation, and migrations).
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and JSONB usage).
• Version Control & Workflows: Proficiency with Git workflows, branching strategies, and pull requests.
• Task Queues: Hands-on experience with asynchronous processes using Celery and message brokers like Redis or RabbitMQ.
