Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for aPurchasing Managerto oversee how our resort sources, contracts and manages all products and services, from F&B and spa to rooms and engineering. In this role, you will keep our supply chain efficient and reliable, while making sure purchasing standards, costs and quality all stay firmly on track.

Responsibilities

  • Translate operating forecasts into clear material plans, set stock and reorder levels with Department Heads and Management.
  • Source and develop reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts and secure competitive quotations and bids.
  • Oversee purchasing systems, policies and procedures, including records, specifications, and market surveys with the Executive Chef, F&B Manager and Accountant.
  • Protect inventory from waste, spoilage and theft, and ensure storage and issuance are properly organised.
  • Support urgent purchase requests from departments, especially when they relate to guest needs.
  • Lead monthly meetings with the owner's company to review orders and update purchasing procedures.
  • Promote responsible, efficient use of hotel assets, energy, water and chemicals, and contribute ideas to improve savings and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Strong negotiation skills, with experience managing vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Ability to evaluate supplier performance and secure the best pricing, terms and quality.
  • Solid experience in procurement, ideally within hospitality or similar environments, including at least 7 years in procurement and 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Good written communication skills and strong problem-solving, organisational and training abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, preferably with a specialisation in Foreign Trade.
  • A good communication skills certificate (Queensland University) is an advantage.
  • A practical understanding of supply chain best practices, industry trends and brand standards.
