Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mexico City, responsible for overseeing all procurement activities to support hotel operations. This position manages sourcing of goods and services, negotiates contracts with suppliers, and ensures timely delivery of quality materials at competitive prices. The Purchasing Manager monitors inventory levels, coordinates with departments such as Operations, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering to forecast needs, and maintains accurate purchasing records. The role includes evaluating vendor performance, enforcing compliance with company policies and sustainability standards, and optimizing purchasing processes for cost-effectiveness and reliability. The Purchasing Manager collaborates closely with finance to track budgets, reconcile invoices, and support reporting requirements.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in purchasing, sourcing, and vendor management, with experience negotiating contracts and pricing for hospitality or related industries.
  • Proficiency in inventory control, demand forecasting, and supply chain coordination to ensure uninterrupted hotel operations.
  • Ability to analyze cost structures, prepare procurement reports, and work with budgeting and financial systems.
  • Familiarity with procurement software, ERP or PMS systems, and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to compliance and ethical purchasing practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a purchasing or procurement management role, preferably within hospitality or service-oriented environments.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices and interest in supporting environmentally and socially responsible sourcing.
