Job Description

Public Relations managers are responsible for developing and implementing an organization's PR and media strategy, building its reputation, and ensuring effective media coverage. As a PR manager, you will draft or oversee the creation of media releases and content for social media, forge relationships with journalists and key influencers, and manage responses to crisis situations.

Managing Consumer and Corporate Media & PR Opportunities:

Responsible for managing media and PR opportunities at the hotel level and supporting local media & PR efforts across other IHG hotels or regions.

Media Strategy:

Responsible for further developing, implementing, and fine-tuning the organization's media strategy. This includes building media relations, identifying media opportunities, anticipating challenges, and coordinating responses.

Media Handling:

Serve as the first point of contact for media inquiries, liaising with key staff to ensure that journalists receive statements or interviews as appropriate.

Press, TV & Radio Interviews:

When appropriate, undertake press, TV, and radio interviews and identify suitable staff to comment and participate in interviews.

Briefing & Training:

Arrange and deliver relevant media training for key staff within the Marketing department. Prepare and train selected team member for key media opportunities, situations, or media crises.

Crisis Management:

Work closely with an identified team to develop media plans to address any crises that may arise.

Media Partners:

Develop media partner proposals for major events and opportunities.

Public Relations Events:

Organize media launches and photo opportunities to maximize the public relations impact of service openings, report launches, fundraising events, conferences, and AGMs, making them newsworthy.

Celebrities:

Recruit and manage celebrity contacts.

Media Contact List:

Maintain a comprehensive list of international and local media contacts, with particular emphasis on F&B media.

Media Account Management:

Manage assigned accounts as per the media account management system.

External Vendors and Agencies:

Oversee external vendors and media agencies, working with agency partners to identify strategic media buys for assigned hotels.

Brand Team Liaison:

Collaborate with the IHG Brand Team's PR leadership to ensure media placements for hotels align with the overall hotel marketing strategy.

Photography Consulting:

Act as a consulting resource for property marketing teams seeking regional photographers for food, amenity, and property imagery, ensuring all photography aligns with the brand voice.

Internal Communications:

Support the internal communications requirements of the Communications & Marketing team.

Social Media:

Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to support the resort's growing social media needs by supplying content and aligning with traditional media activities.

Strategic Objectives Support:

Assist the Communications & Marketing team in achieving strategic objectives.

Other Duties:

Perform any other duties as assigned by management from time to time
