Job Description

Working location: Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam (hybrid mode)

This role requires strong project management capabilities, sufficient technical understanding to work effectively with engineering teams, and excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage multiple software development projects from initiation and planning through delivery, launch, and ongoing support.
  • Define and maintain project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, deliverables and dependencies.
  • Work with clients and stakeholders to clarify business requirements, priorities, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, planning sessions, status updates, requirement discussions, demos, retrospectives, and steering meetings.
  • Coordinate closely with Technical Leads, developes, DevOps, and other contributors to ensure effective execution.
  • Track project progress, identify risks and blockers early, and drive timely resolution or escalation.
  • Ensure that project commitments are realistic, clearly communicated, and aligned across internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Monitor delivery quality and ensure that completed work meets agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations professionally, especially when priorities, risks, or delivery plans change.
  • Contribute to project high quality and stability.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience managing software development or technology projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, including scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, resources, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
  • Good technical knowledge to understand engineering discussions, clarify technical dependencies, assess delivery impact, and communicate effectively with technical teams.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery approaches such as Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Strong ability to turn high-level business requirements into structured plans, milestones, and actionable work items.
  • Experience facilitating meetings with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong risk management, problem-solving, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive ownership mindset with the ability to follow through on commitments and drive projects forward.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Technical Understanding

Candidates are not expected to perform the responsibilities of a Technical Lead. However, they should be comfortable discussing and coordinating topics such as:

  • Backend, frontend, mobile, and API development
  • Cloud-based applications and infrastructure
  • System integrations and data flows
  • Databases and data-processing workflows
  • Testing strategies and quality assurance
  • CI/CD, environments, deployments, and releases
  • Security, performance, reliability, and operational risks
  • Technical dependencies, trade-offs, and delivery estimates

Nice to have

  • Experience managing outsourcing, distributed, or international development teams.
  • Experience working directly with clients in the US.
  • Experience delivering cloud-based, enterprise, data-intensive, retail, e-commerce, or financial technology projects.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve project planning, documentation, reporting, and delivery coordination.
