ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Project Lead to manage and oversee the successful delivery of complex Data Science (DS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Project Management and Business Analysis, with proven expertise in guiding cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. While deep technical DS/AI/ML expertise is not strictly required, a working understanding of the AI/ML project landscape and prior experience in this domain is highly valued and considered a significant plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Planning and Execution
- Define, scope, and document project objectives, deliverables, and requirements in collaboration with business stakeholders and technical leads.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including detailed tasks, timelines, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, leveraging Business Analysis expertise to ensure requirements are clearly articulated and traceable.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead and facilitate project meetings (e.g., status updates, planning sessions, retrospectives) to ensure alignment and forward momentum.
2. Stakeholder and Business Alignment
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams (Data Scientists, ML Engineers) and business stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and deliverables.
- Manage stakeholder communication and expectations, ensuring project outcomes align with strategic business objectives.
- Document and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
3. Team Management and Leadership
- Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Hold team members accountable for project commitments and deliverables.
- Facilitate decision-making and resolve internal team conflicts or roadblocks.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on managing complex technical or analytical projects, and/or
- 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
Technical Proficiency
- Demonstrated expertise with standard project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing Data Science, AI, or Machine Learning projects is a significant plus.
- PMP, Prince2, or Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP).
- Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools.
- A working knowledge of the DS/AI/ML lifecycle, including data quality, model development, and deployment.
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
