Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Project Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of the Company's international architectural and engineering projects. This role provides strategic direction throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, technical, and quality standards.

The Project Director drives project excellence by leading multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, and Site Operations while serving as the key executive interface with international clients, consultants, and business partners. The role is accountable for project performance, customer satisfaction, profitability, and the continuous development of project management capabilities across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Project Leadership

  • Lead the successful execution of multiple international architectural and engineering projects from contract award through final handover.
  • Establish project execution strategies aligned with business objectives and contractual commitments.
  • Oversee project governance, ensuring consistency in project delivery methodologies and best practices.
  • Drive decision-making on complex technical, commercial, and operational matters.
  • Ensure effective resource planning across multiple projects to optimize organizational capacity and project performance.

2. Project Portfolio Management

  • Direct project planning, execution, monitoring, and control across the entire project portfolio.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, profitability, and key performance indicators.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure timely delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Review project performance and initiate corrective actions where necessary.

3. Client & Commercial Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with international clients, consultants, developers, architects, and contractors.
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for strategic customers throughout project execution.
  • Lead commercial negotiations related to project changes, claims, variations, and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term strategic partnerships.

4. Cross-functional Leadership

  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Resolve cross-functional challenges affecting project performance.
  • Promote accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

5. Financial & Risk Management

  • Take full ownership of project financial performance, including revenue, cost, cash flow, profitability, and forecasting.
  • Monitor project budgets and implement strategies to improve financial outcomes.
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with commercial obligations.
  • Lead project risk assessments and establish mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Drive effective change management and claims management throughout project execution.

6. Technical & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee engineering coordination, design reviews, procurement strategies, manufacturing readiness, logistics planning, and installation execution.
  • Ensure compliance with international engineering standards, client specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Support innovation and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across completed projects.

7. People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Project Management team.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning, coaching, and talent development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development initiatives.

8. Executive Reporting

  • Provide regular executive updates on project performance, risks, financial status, and strategic initiatives.
  • Present portfolio performance to senior leadership and executive management.
  • Ensure accurate project reporting, documentation, and governance throughout the project lifecycle.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • PMP or equivalent Project Management certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of project management experience within architecture, engineering, façade, construction, or related industries.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale international projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex engineering or construction projects across international markets.
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple concurrent projects.
