The Project Control Manager - Water Treatment Industry role offers an opportunity to join an international company specialising in water and wastewater treatment systems. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the position supports project managers in controlling schedules, costs, contracts, procurement, logistics, and site installation activities to facilitate successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Schedule Control
- Monitor and update weekly and monthly project progress against the master schedule prepared by the project manager
- Identify and control the critical path in coordination with the project manager
- Cost Control
- Review purchasing progress and costs against the budget prepared by the project manager
- Track actual costs against the budget and analyse cost variances
- Contract Control
- Review contract terms and conditions with the sales team
- Coordinate with the project manager to facilitate timely partial handovers, inform the accountant to issue invoices, and request the sales team to claim partial payments
- Track subcontractor claims and additional requirements with the project manager
- Remind the sales team and project manager to secure additional costs where applicable
- Procurement & Logistics Control
- Track progress from Request for Quotation (RFQ), quotation, and Purchase Order (PO) through fabrication, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), shipment, and delivery
- Site Installation & Quantity Control
- Monitor, follow up, and track installation quantities against the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to support the project manager
- Review site work plans
- Review site reports covering manpower and equipment mobilisation
- Monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), punch lists, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), where applicable
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field
- More than 5 years of experience as a project manager or at least 2 years of experience as a project controller in the water treatment industry
- Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and layout drawings
- Ability to use AutoCAD to review drawings
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team; team management experience is preferred
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- High level of motivation and a strong commitment to achieving company targets
