The Production Merchandiser oversees the end-2-end production cycle, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and supplier performance. This role involves coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve production issues, uphold sustainability and compliance standards, enhance production information transparency and drive operational efficiency.
How will you make a difference
Supplier Management & Collaboration
- Both roles involve managing supplier relationships, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
- Participate in pre-production meetings and collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Logistics, and other teams.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and sustainability requirements.
- Work closely with QA teams to manage sample or production quality.
Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor or order data in systems.
Operational Excellence
- Support business goals through process improvements and KPI achievement.
Communication
- Act as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal teams.
- Resolve issues proactively to meet timelines and customer expectations.
Order & Production Management
- Monitor overall production progress, proactively identify potential risks, propose and implement mitigation plan.
- Follow the approved QC files and accessory cards, and follow up on subsequent handling.
- Approve production samples (e.g., shipment, expert, warehouse).
- Ensure suppliers compliance with testing standards (chemical/physical) and production timelines.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Serve as main point of contact for suppliers during production.
- Monitor supplier production capacity to prevent order delays, capacity overbooked and provide oversight on production planning.
- Provide technical support to supplier on resolving production issues.
- Drive supplier improvement initiatives (e.g., CAP, training) to strengthen supplier capability and production efficiency.
- Conduct regular factory visits to strengthen supplier relationships
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor data.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Coordinate pre-shipment inspections and testing processes.
- Coordinate production quality control with the Quality Team based on supplier performance and development plan, including but not limited to inspections, testing processes.
- Facilitate claim resolution and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability certifications (e.g., GOTS), social standards and TC tracking.
Strategic & Operational Excellence
- Support the Oi internal bi-annual supplier performance reviews through providing information/ data on supplier performance and capability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes and achieve KPIs (e.g. punctuality, claim ratio and etc.).
- Support additional tasks as assigned to meet business goals.
Who we are looking for
- Graduated with a degree in a relevant field (Textile & Clothing) or diploma holder or above in Merchandising.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and Teams applications.
- Ability to quickly adapt and use new digital solutions in daily operations.
- Good background knowledge of Materials Sourcing & Development, Garment Construction, and Sample Development.
- Good communication skills with customers and suppliers.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a sales-focused mindset.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of 3D and proactive sustainability practices are advantageous.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in merchandising.
