About the role:
The Product Owner transforms product decisions into clear, structured, and high-quality documentation used in our AI-Driven Development process. This role acts as the bridge between product vision and the development pod, ensuring that all requirements, user stories, and business rules are fully represented in well-defined Markdown specifications. You are responsible for maintaining the consistency, clarity, and completeness of the Spec-Driven artifacts that enable high-productivity, AI-supported software delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Translate product decisions into actionable specifications and documentation.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of Markdown-based artifacts, including Intent documents, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria, and refinement notes.
- Analyze client materials (PPT, PDF, DOCX, wiki, etc.) and synthesize information into structured product definitions.
- Ensure all Spec-Driven documents remain consistent, up-to-date, and aligned with product vision and ongoing decisions.
- Use AI agents to support drafting, refining, reviewing, and validating specifications and documentation.
- Own the quality and completeness of .md files that serve as the source for AI-generated code and test artifacts.
- Facilitate business refinement sessions with the team to clarify requirements, identify ambiguities, and ensure shared understanding.
- Support the planning, selecting prepared items and ensuring specifications are ready for development.
- Work closely with the team to address questions, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment during implementation.
- Manage versioning, structure, and organization of specification documents to maintain a single source of truth.
- UAT, validate that delivered features meet the expected business rules and product intent.
- Support the identification of initial risks during the inception phase and document them clearly in relevant specification files.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation standards, templates, and Spec-Driven best practices.
- Help create and maintain the Product/ Project Roadmap
Requirement:
Must-have:
- Experience in product/service planning, UX design, software development, or related roles.
- Strong foundation in product documentation, business analysis, and requirements engineering.
- Ability to write clear, structured specifications and manage backlog items effectively.
- Experience with Agile, UAT, and cross-functional collaboration across business and technical teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation, organization, analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Strong Japanese communication skills
- Familiarity with Spec-Driven Development, Markdown, and structured documentation practices.
- Ability to manage document versioning and maintain specification files as a single source of truth.
- Comfort using AI-based tools, LLMs, or automated workflows to support documentation and refinement.
- Understanding of SDLC, system architecture fundamentals, and familiarity with IDEs such as VS Code or JetBrains.
