Product Engineer - Plastic & Compound

1. Engineering Function: 

- Innovation/ R & D: Responsible to lead/support or co-develop with customer and supplier for innovation and R & D. 

- Product development: Responsible for smart design, design for quality and design for manufacturability. It also covers the product risk assessment for high attention programs to mitigate product risks. 

- Product cost management: pre-costing, costing review and design to cost to hit the cost target. 

- Order execution: ensure executional excellence by overseeing and delivering world-class handoff integrity from creative space through supply chain production.

- Implementing Hallmark's systems and processes as well as industrial best practices and standards. Collects, interprets data to drive continuous across the global supply chain.

- Accountable for supplier's capability development (Location specific).

- Product design approval.

2. Quality Function:

- Defines and set up the quality specification correctly and consistently on programs. Sets standard process for the teammates to sustain the consistence.

- Maintain updates in the system (PLM) on sku levels.

- Supports the CQS (Certified Quality Supplier), SEP (Supplier Empowerment Program)and key supplier quality development and maintenance program in China and Southeast & South Asia.

- Effective communicates and interprets of visual standards as well as testing protocols to suppliers and third-party laboratories

- Quality disposition and technical issue resolution.

- New supplier quality and capability assessment.

3. Project Management:

- Supports business partners and suppliers on strategic projects.

- Supports capability development and training for suppliers.

- Supports CQS and SEP program, supplier development and maintenance.

- Degree in related engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

- 3-5 years related experience in toys / textile / ceramic / wood/ gifts / premium.

- Flexible to work under changing and diverse work settings.

- Extensive travel to supplier sites for problem solving.

- Excellent people relations and mature thinking.

- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and 3D software e.g. Freeform (Not a must but will be advantage).

- Language Skills in English and Vietnamese, Cantonese and Mandarin – (Not a must but will be advantage).
