Job Description

As a Product Development Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and validate scalable, high‑volume manufacturing processes for Final Assembly, Test, and Packout
  • Lead process experiments, data analysis, and yield / throughput optimization to support production ramp
  • Drive DFM alignment with product design to enable automation, cost efficiency, and manufacturability
  • Partner with suppliers on process flow, tooling, equipment selection, and DOE to meet volume and quality targets
  • Assess supplier readiness and execution capability for builds and mass production ramp‑up
  • Identify manufacturing risks and drive corrective actions to ensure schedule, quality, and yield targets
  • Develop and execute Product Quality Plans (PQP), including FAI, Cp/Cpk, SPC, and audits
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for supplier performance, issues, and improvements

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Product Development Engineer Should Have

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • PCBA manufacturing experience
  • Hands‑on knowledge of SMT processes (screen printing, placement, reflow, inspection)
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • 5+ years in SMT engineering and/or Final Assembly, Test & Packout
  • Experience ramping high‑volume consumer electronics
  • Strong knowledge of PCBA failure modes, defect analysis, and quality tools, with experience driving PQP, FAI, Cp/Cpk, and audits for high‑volume production.
  • Experience with advanced SMT (fine‑pitch, BGA/CSP, selective soldering)
  • Data‑driven mindset with hands‑on failure analysis
  • Strong project & supplier management skills
