OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Procurement Supervisor supports the Procurement Manager by overseeing daily procurement operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves supervising procurement officers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is skilled in negotiation, supply chain management, and possesses a background in the gaming or hospitality industry.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Supervise procurement officers in handling procurement requests and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Review and approve supplier interviews, quotations, and negotiations conducted by procurement officers.
- Manage supplier relationships, including evaluating performance, contracts, and fostering collaborations.
- Oversee logistics and import processes, ensuring compliance with international and local regulations.
- Monitor the preparation and submission of procurement and inventory reports.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including supplier agreements, contracts, and compliance documents.
- Assist in budget preparation and ensure expenditures align with budget allocations.
- Conduct risk management for supply contracts and address potential disruptions.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate procurement strategies with finance, legal, and operational requirements.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Procurement Management
- Supervise the procurement process, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in defining procurement strategies and aligning them with organizational objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a database of preferred suppliers.
- Negotiate better terms for inventory procurement and establish strong supplier partnerships.
Logistics and Compliance
- Oversee importation logistics and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Ensure all procurement activities support legal and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Train and develop the procurement team to enhance their skills in procurement and compliance.
- Set team objectives and conduct performance reviews to ensure team efficiency.
Reporting and Improvement
- Prepare detailed procurement reports for management review.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to optimize procurement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, international trade, and customs regulations.
- Proven negotiation skills to secure advantageous contract terms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to procurement.
