Position Purpose
The Head of Process Engineering is the technical and managerial authority for process engineering within Artelia Industry in Vietnam and the wider APAC region.
The role is responsible for:
- Defining process engineering strategy and standards
- Leading complex, high‑value industrial projects
- Managing senior process resources
- Acting as a trusted technical partner to clients, project directors and regional leadership
The role has final technical authority to validate process engineering strategies, assumptions and major deliverables on behalf of Artelia Industry.
This position goes beyond project delivery and includes discipline ownership, strategic decision‑making and long‑term capability building.
Key Accountabilities
The Head of Process Engineering is accountable for the performance, quality, credibility of the process engineering discipline.
- Technical Authority
- Act as the senior technical authority for process engineering across industrial and utility projects
- Validate key process concepts, design assumptions and critical deliverables
- Ensure solutions are compliant, constructible, operable and commercially sound
- Discipline Leadership
- Lead and develop the process engineering discipline at country and regional level
- Set standards, methodologies and quality expectations
- Manage, mentor and grow senior and junior process engineering resources
- Project Delivery Oversight
- Lead process engineering on complex or high‑risk projects
- Support Project Directors and Managers on scope, risk, resourcing and delivery strategy
- Ensure effective coordination with buildings, utilities, MEP and other disciplines
- Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Act as trusted senior technical advisor to key clients
- Lead technical workshops, design reviews and value engineering activities
- Represent process engineering in executive‑level discussions
- Business & Capability Development
- Support proposals, tenders and strategic bids as discipline authority
- Contribute to the growth and positioning of Artelia's process engineering capability
- Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and lessons learned
- QHSE & Quality Leadership
- Uphold Artelia's QHSE policies and values at discipline level
- Ensure robust technical reviews, risk management and compliance
- Lead by example in safety, ethics and engineering excellence
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification is a plus
- Significant senior experience (typically 15+ years) in process engineering
- Proven experience as:
- Process Discipline Lead
- Engineering Manager
- Senior Lead Process Engineer
- Extensive background in engineering consultancy or EPC
- Experience on large, complex, multi‑disciplinary industrial projects
- Demonstrated success managing senior technical teams
Technical & Professional Skills
- Deep expertise in:
- Industrial process and utility systems
- Interface between process, buildings and MEP
- Process safety and compliance frameworks
- Strong engineering judgment and decision-making capability
- Comfortable operating with incomplete or evolving data
- Excellent technical communication with both engineers and executives
- Fluent technical English (written and spoken)
