Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
R&D Project Design, Development and Management (40%)
- Participate or organize in project group, take technical analysis for market and customer demands, and complete feasibility analysis.
- Participate in technology decision, providing sufficient technical specifications.
- In charge of design, fabrication and testing in procedure of product development.
- Lead or participate in the development of supply chain for new projects, formulate the quality standards and test methods for raw materials.
- In charge of data classification & analysis and cost analysis in the procedure of project development.
- Solve the quality and technical problems and provide the comprehensive and professional analysis report.
NPI and Support for Volume Production (25%)
- Lead or participate to set up pilot production line of new products.
- Prepare deliverables of new products per R&D process requirement.
- Train process engineers, technicians, or operators for volume production.
- Ensure the pilot line of new products is control available and support the volume production.
- Support to deal with special RMA and technical problem during volume production.
Project Schedule Management (20%)
- Feedback to the customer accurately and timely.
- Familiar with the processes of project design and development, participate in plan formulation for projects or sub projects.
- Deploy work according to plans, ensuring project finished on time and report progress periodically.
- In charge of protocol the key points, completing the plan of processing quality control before mass production or importation of new project.
- Apply for the change of plan if project plan can't be finished on time due to objective reasons
Continuous Improvement (15%)
- Assist in solving technical and quality problems in the production process after the transfer.
- Pay attention to market dynamics, technology updates, customer needs, cost requirements, and continue to improve.
- Provide technical support and services in conjunction with sales, quality assurance, procurement, production, planning and other departments.
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required. Major in Physics, Applied Physics , optics, optical communication, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- An advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is an advantage.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum relevant experience:
- Bachelor's degree: 9 years
- Master's degree: 7 years
- Ph.D.: 4 years ;
- Experience in NPI or Engineering within an international manufacturing environment in computer modeling/simulation and product development in optics, optical communication, laser, semiconductor, or other opto-electronics relevant fields is preferred.
- Familiar with modeling software like Zemax/Ansys/MATLAB, and graphics software such as CAD/CAXA, Solidworks, etc.
- Proficient in experimental and laboratory skills, such as data collection and analysis, technical document writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience in test system design is preferred.
- Proficient in English for technical and business communication;
- Speaking Chinese is a plus
Working Conditions
- Work with advanced optical technologies and high-precision measurement equipment.
- Perform regular hands-on work with manufacturing and metrology instruments.
- Work may take place in specialized workshops, cleanrooms, and standard office environments.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or collaboration at overseas facilities.
