PLANNING & PROCUREMENT MANAGER: Lead procurement planning and purchasing activities to ensure the right materials, tools, and equipment are available at the right time, in the right quantity, and at optimal cost, supporting stable operations in a high-value, risk-sensitive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Planning
- Develop and manage procurement planning for raw materials, tools, consumables, and machinery & equipment based on approved production plans and requirements from Manufacturing and Technical teams
- Translate production and operational requirements into purchase plans, ensuring timely availability, particularly for high-value or critical items
- Coordinate closely with Manufacturing Planning, Engineering/Technical, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance to align demand, inventory levels, asset utilization, and budget control
- Monitor procurement plan execution, analyze variances (lead time, quantity, cost, asset availability), and proactively adjust purchasing actions to prevent shortages, production disruptions, or excess inventory
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and traceability of procurement planning data within ERP/SCM systems, covering materials, tools, and fixed assets
2. Procurement Execution
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials and components, particularly high-value items
- Source, evaluate, select, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance
- Lead supplier negotiations and contract management while ensuring strong internal controls and risk mitigation
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage delivery risks or disruptions
3. Management & Control
- Establish, review, and continuously improve procurement planning processes, policies, and internal controls
- Lead, coach, and develop the Planning & Procurement team
- Support inventory audits, compliance reviews, and cross-functional coordination initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related fields
- 812+ years of experience in planning and procurement, including at least 35 years in a managerial role
- Strong preference for experience in:
- Jewelry, precious metals, luxury goods, or
- High-value, high-risk manufacturing environments (electronics, pharmaceuticals, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of inventory management, MRP, supplier negotiation, internal controls, and ERP/SCM systems
- Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and ability to perform effectively under pressure
