1. Role Overview
As People Team Manager at STEAM for Vietnam, you will build and lead the team that keeps our entire volunteer organization staffed, engaged, and growing. You will oversee three sub-teams — Talent Acquisition, People Engagement, and Talent Development — and work directly with the leadership team to make S4V a place where hundreds of volunteers do the best work of their lives. This is a rare opportunity to design and run the people engine of a national-scale education nonprofit.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead the three People sub-teams: recruit their leads, set their goals, and coach them to deliver
- Own the volunteer experience end to end — from first application to project close and alumni
- Track and improve the numbers that matter: time-to-fill, Day-60 retention, and internal promotion rate
- Report quarterly to leadership on people health: pipeline, retention, and lead-role succession
- Advise team leads across S4V on team structure, volunteer motivation, and people decisions
3. Requirements
- You have managed a team before — in a company, a club, a nonprofit, or a student organization
- You think in systems and processes, not one-off heroics
- You communicate clearly and are comfortable advising senior leaders
- You care about people genuinely
Nice to have:
- HR, people operations, or talent management experience
- Experience in volunteer-based or nonprofit organizations
- Experience with people data (retention tracking, engagement surveys)
4. Why Join Us
- Lead a core function of one of Vietnam's largest education nonprofits, with real authority to shape it
- Work directly with S4V's founders and leadership team
- Receive a certificate and public recognition of your leadership contribution
- Build a people system that helps bring free, world-class STEAM education to learners across Vietnam
