As a key member of our Bookkeeping & CFO Services team, the Senior Bookkeeper will deliver high-quality bookkeeping services to a portfolio of clients across a diverse range of industries. Experience managing multiple clients with varying complexities is essential for this role.

Beyond technical delivery, this role plays a critical part in building, mentoring, and leading a growing bookkeeping team in Vietnam. The successful candidate will take ownership of developing junior bookkeepers, establishing workflows, and ensuring consistent service quality across the team.

English requirement: Intermediate or above English language skills as all our accounting work is in English and you must be confident in written English. You will need to be able to communicate with client managers on day-to-day basis.

Job requirements:

The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for leading, training junior bookkeepers and client business administration, including reconciling to trial balance, management reports and activity statements. This involves maintaining an appropriate level of service to the clients and producing a high standard of work, GST reporting, systems and processes

You will be expected to do the following tasks:

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Review work prepared by junior bookkeepers and provide guidance, training, and constructive feedback. 
  • Lead the onboarding, training, and development of junior team members.
  • Responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting duties, including data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and inter entity transaction reconciliations.
  • Preparation of business activity statements (BAS)
  • Preparation of payroll, including Wages, commissions, superannuation, STP.
  • Prepare workpapers with supporting documents.
  • Day-to-day bookkeeping in multiple platforms. 
  • Setting up new client data files, chart of accounts and payroll. 
  • Troubleshooting issues in client files. Preparing and reviewing monthly P&L and balance sheets to compile management reports; 
  • End of year reporting; 

We're looking for someone with (in priority order):

  • Experience as a Bookkeeper 
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop junior staff (this is critical for the role)
  • Experience with Xero/MYOB and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ready to commit to the Australian Taxation for the next 3 years or more with a clear career development path.
  • Excellent communication & writing skills, Good command of English (IELTS 6.5 equivalent). 
  • Having high attention to detail, and being precision-oriented.
  • Excellent applying of methodical and logical process.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment effectively, with minimal supervision
  • Being self-motivated, working under high pressure, and organised.
  • Knowledge of Australian taxation legislation is an advantage.
