Our client is looking for the Optical Design Engineer position.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Camera Optical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in designing and tolerancing optical systems to drive the development of ultra-compact, highprecision microoptical solutions. You will work from concept creation through massproduction optimization, contributing to nextgeneration optics and photonics technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Optical System Design & Development:
- Design optical systems, especially for multi lens design and evaluate their performance; simulation experience is an advantage.
- Propose optical design concepts, tolerance budgets, and qualification approaches.
- Contribute to proofofconcept prototypes and novel technology development.
- Material & Documentation Management:
- Create and update optical design documentation, BOM, and engineering data.
- Provide specifications for optical components and ensure manufacturability alignment.
- Track and analyze optical performance data and simulation outputs.
- System Integration & CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure design compatibility.
- Support assembly process validation and designformanufacturing (DFM) reviews.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and mitigation updates clearly across teams.
- Testing, Validation & Analysis:
- Define optical testing and characterization methods.
- Perform sensitivity and tolerance analysis on optical systems.
- Conduct straylight analysis, physical optics modeling, or coherent optical analysis (as needed).
- Issue Handling & Mitigation:
- Identify design risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Assist in resolving designrelated issues during build activities.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 510 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V, FRED, LightTools).
- Strong understanding of optical system design, tolerancing, and optimization, especially optics with multiple lens.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, C, or similar programming tools.
- Familiarity with sensing or metrology optical systems is an advantage.
- Experience designing highprecision microoptical systems.
- English: Good communicate.
