I. What You'll Do
One of the main functions within the operations team is to resolve issues raised by researchers and others within the organization. We do so through the JIRA service desk.
The role of the operation engineer will thus be threefold:
- Help manage the flow of issues and resolve them. For the more complex issues, they can then redirect to the DevOps team for their handling, but the support engineer must still keep ownership.
- Come up with solutions to improve the efficiency of resolving issues.
- Develop automation tools to make operations more efficient. This would include exploring the use of bots to automate some of the common tasks, as well as writing scripts to programmatically categorize and handle the tickets in the JIRA service desk.
II. What You'll Bring
- Good Python programming skills with at least 2 years of hands-on experience.
- Experience working in Linux environments and with relational databases such as MySQL.
- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD toolchains.
- Familiar with Restful APIs.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills as well.
- Good English communication.
