Job Description

As the Memory Layout Lead based in Vietnam, you will drive the technical development and

delivery of advanced memory IP layouts, leading a team of engineers in hands-on design,

verification, and optimization. This role combines deep technical expertise with team

supervision, ensuring high-quality layout solutions and continuous innovation.

Technical Leadership & Execution

  • Lead hands-on layout design for advanced memory IP blocks, focusing on

floor planning, placement, routing, and verification.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex layout issues, driving root-cause analysis and

technical solutions.

  • Develop and refine automation flows and scripts to improve layout productivity and

quality.

  • Ensure compliance with design rules, DRC/LVS checks, and foundry requirements.
  • Review and approve critical layout blocks, ensuring optimal performance, area, and

manufacturability.

  • Mentor engineers in advanced layout methodologies and best practices.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with memory design leads, physical design teams, and CAD teams to

ensure layout feasibility and efficiency.

  • Participate in project scoping and scheduling, contributing layout effort estimates and

risk assessments.

  • Work closely with project managers and technical leads to align layout deliverables

with broader IP development milestones.

  • Present technical findings, risks, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support tape-out activities, including final signoff and documentation.

Qualifications

Proven experience in leading layout teams, preferably in memory IP or custom

analog/mixed-signal domains.

  • Strong understanding of layout tools and flows.
  • Proficient with layout verification tools (Calibre, ICV, StarRC)
  • Proficient with layout capture tools (Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with advanced process nodes (e.g., 5nm, 3nm) and associated layout

challenges.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work across time zones and cultures.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7-12+ years of layout experience.

About The Role

  • Location: Vietnam Danang
  • Work arrangement: 100% on-site
  • Required to be able to work in English with an overseas team

All Mixel salary ranges are determined by role, level and geographic location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training and additional role-related considerations.
