Mechanical Engineer (Humanoid Robot Design)

Division - Department:

Hardware Mechanical Engineering

Report to:

Mechanical Engineering Manager

Location:

Gia Lam, Hanoi, Vietnam

REQUIREMENTS

Relevant education and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing mechanical components, preferably robotic joints or precision mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with actuation systems (servo motors, harmonic drives, torque sensors, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, machining.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes like CNC machining, injection, molding, casting.
  • Knowledge of robotics standards and compliance requirements is an advantage.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Design, develop, and optimize mechanical parts for humanoid robots, ensuring high precision, durability, and lightweight construction.
  • Conduct kinematic and dynamic analysis to improve joint performance and efficiency.
  • Select appropriate bearings, gears, and materials to achieve desired performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with electrical and control engineers to integrate actuators and sensors within the joint system.
  • Prototype, test, and refine mechanisms to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Support manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring that designs are cost-effective and scalable.
