As a principal Engineer of Mechanical Design, you will lead the activities of cell manufacturing equipment optimization, modification, upgrading, continuous improvement, new line design , production ramp-up, OEE improvement, solve on-site equipment defects, prepare related documentation, and coach team members. Also get involved in new equipment layout planning, capacity balancing, FAT, SAT.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have opportunities to access to latest cell Assembly manufacturing technologies around the world and shape the innovative cell solutions for meeting TTI's power output and energy storage requirements for a variety of products.
- Recognize current equipment structure, fixture defect, develop corrective actions, follow up execution result.
- Create novel pre-maintenance plan to reduce machine breakdown, reduce loss by equipment, work with external vendors and collaborators to design and qualify new equipment and advanced process technologies.
- Familiar with metal material performance, treatment, and maintenance, also plastic and resin fixtures characteristics, establish technology evaluation plan, identify required resources, set up timelines, prioritize tasks, troubleshoot problems, and assess technical feasibility and commercial viability.
- Effectively communicate the ideas and results both internally and externally.
- Monitor projects status, provide up activities and reports/presentations regarding the current and future development activities, and make recommendations.
- Identify the patentable inventions and generate IPs.
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in science or engineering (Machinery, Automation are preferred).
- 8+ year experience with equipment/process development, maintenance, production.
- Knowledge of emerging cell manufacturing process/equipment technologies is preferred.
- Cylindrical cell experience is preferred.
- Deep-in knowledge of cell equipment design, modification and continuous optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills driven by curiosity and attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and Chinese is preferred.
