Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type- On Roll / Contract

Education: BE / Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
Experience: 7-15 years
Reports to: Department Head
Industry: Consumer Electronics, Automation Industry
Purpose of the Role:
To provide effective, efficient, and comprehensive mechanical design solutions by understanding project-specific problem statements. This role is responsible for leading the mechanical design function including planning, team management, technical reviews, interdepartmental coordination, and ensuring quality design deliverables within project timelines and compliance standards.
Professional Exposure Required:
-Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) such as Servo Pressing, Dispensing, Gluing, Visual Testing, Torquing, Laser Welding, Leak Testing, End-of-Line Testing, and Material Handling Systems.
-New product and project development
-Standardization and modular design methodologies
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide end-to-end design solutions based on defined problem statements
-Lead planning, scheduling, and controlling activities of the mechanical design team
-Ensure timely design releases with technical accuracy and documentation compliance
-Strategic planning of team structure, recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and workload allocation
-Align team goals with organizational objectives and monitor performance metrics resource cost management and reporting.
-Drive inter and intra-functional communication for smooth coordination with Controls, Software, and Projects teams
-Lead and participate in technical and project gating meetings (internal and customer-facing)
-Support FAT/SAT and address function-specific issues
-Conduct and participate in design reviews and sign-offs
-Verify design layouts, system integration concepts, stack-up, cycle time, and budget adherence
-Review DAPs, SOWs, user manuals, training materials, spares lists, and other technical documentation.

-ERP/MPT systems
-MS Office Suite
-FMEA, FEA, DFM, Design Documentation
-Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks
-Track and manage changes/deviations through formal systems
-Maintain and close issue tracking logs systematically
-Participate in standardization and modularity initiatives
-Develop and execute test plans for system validation and issue resolution
-Maintain a holistic, solution-oriented design approach
