We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design and engineer robust mechanical systems for mission-critical data center facilities. You will be a key technical contributor, developing cooling and HVAC solutions that ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability for our international clients. This role requires close collaboration with architectural, electrical, and BIM teams to deliver fully coordinated, world-class designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design for data center projects, focusing on cooling system architecture (chilled water, DX, adiabatic), airflow management, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Perform critical load calculations, energy modeling, and engineering analyses to optimize system performance and meet PUE targets.
- Develop detailed construction documents, including drawings, sequences of operation, and technical specifications compliant with international standards.
- Collaborate directly with architects, BIM modelers, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the building design.
- Coordinate with international clients, contractors, and vendors to present designs, respond to RFIs, and provide technical guidance during construction.
- Review equipment submittals, shop drawings, and perform site inspections to ensure adherence to design intent.
- Participate in cross-disciplinary design reviews, risk assessments, and sustainability (LEED/WELL) initiatives.
- Support the development of internal design standards, tools, and mentor junior engineering staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency in BIM coordination (Revit, Navisworks) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., HAP, Trace, CFD).
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for client and team interaction.
- Proven track record on cross-border/international projects with diverse teams.
- Firm understanding and application of international mechanical codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, Uptime Institute tiers).
