GENERAL FUNCTION
Reporting to Materials Manager, co-ordinate upper materials and components supply to support product development and bulk production requirements aligned with Sourcing Division protocols.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Reporting to Materials Manager, co-ordinate materials and components for development and bulk production aligned with PD Asia, brand, and wider sourcing disciplines. Responsible for setting and renewing quality tools for approved materials, technical specification, material and supplier compliance, on-time delivery and ensuring production quality meets expectation.
1. Support Quality Assurance & manufacturing functions to supervise quality control of materials in production.
2. Responsible for issuing, upholding, & training on various procedural & material quality protocols & standards. Communicate with PD & brands in process limitations of new selected materials.
3. Mediate & solve quality and delivery issues arising between brand, factory, supplier as necessary. 4. Work with Product Operation teams to ensure selected materials are fit for purpose and quality compatible to ensure timely buy ready status.
5. Support Coordination & Planning Operations team (CPO) to achieve on time in full delivery of samples & production orders. 6. Ensure that all deadlines are met & that standard protocols are delivered on time.
7. Carry out on-boarding process for new suppliers to include vendor compliance audits.
8. Implement and drive to completion assigned projects to facilitate cost savings or service improvements to meet annual sourcing goals.
9. Facilitate ongoing localization objectives to meet Supply chain COO targets.
10. Perform other duties as required/assigned by Materials Supply Chain Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
5+ yrs experience in upper shoe materials, footwear manufacturing or related industries.
Working knowledge of materials technologies, manufacturing and dye processes.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate with both internal and external partners & customers.
Must be fluent in written & spoken English.
Excellent organizational skills.
Computer literate, MS Office applications and MS Outlook.
Knowledge of Restricted Substance Legislation preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Based at one of the Wolverine offices or factory offices as assigned.
Travel to local factories/suppliers as needed.
Periodic foreign travel may also be required.
