Job Description

Marketing & Operations Intern

Build Growth Systems at a YC-Backed AI Hiring Startup

About Flowmingo

Flowmingo is a Y Combinatorbacked startup (with VinaCapital and global investors) building the next generation of hiring infrastructure.

Hiring today is fundamentally broken: recruiters only interview 5% of applicants, leaving 95% of qualified talent invisible. Flowmingo flips this model by using AI interviews to surface hidden talent at scale.

Our strategy is unconventional by design:

  • Free-first, product-led growth
  • Focus on high-growth, under-served markets (Southeast Asia, LATAM, Africa)
  • Growth driven by systems, experimentation, and fast iteration, not bloated marketing spend

This role sits right at the center of that engine.

About the Role

This is not a traditional marketing internship.

As a Marketing & Operations Intern, you will own real growth initiatives end-to-end from idea execution measurement while also helping build the internal systems that keep Flowmingo moving fast.

You won't just assist.

You'll run experiments, ship workflows, break things, fix them, and turn chaos into repeatable playbooks.

You'll work closely with the CEO and core team, with clear visibility into how decisions are made at an early-stage startup.

What You'll Do (Daily, Real Work)

1. Marketing Ownership (End-to-End)

  • Plan and execute growth initiatives tied to real metrics (activation, usage, conversion)
  • Build marketing creatives, landing content, outreach messages, and experiments
  • Test channels such as LinkedIn, email, SEO, communities, and partnerships
  • Track performance and iterate fast you own results, not just tasks

2. Growth Experiments

  • Design and run growth experiments (funnels, onboarding, incentives, messaging)
  • Analyze what works, what fails, and why
  • Turn winning experiments into repeatable systems

3. Operations & Systems

  • Build internal workflows, automations, dashboards, and trackers
  • Improve how we handle leads, onboarding, activation, and follow-ups
  • Document processes so they scale beyond you

4. Product & Data Involvement

  • Work with Product & Engineering on growth loops and user feedback
  • Analyze usage data and translate insights into actions
  • Help shape onboarding flows and activation mechanics

You'll see how marketing, ops, product, and data intersect in real life, not in theory.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal if you:

  • Want real ownership, not support work
  • Enjoy experimenting, building systems, and learning fast
  • Are curious about how growth actually works in early-stage startups

Requirements

We're selective. You don't need to know everything but you must have fundamentals.

You'll probably fit if you:

  • Are AI-open-minded and actively curious about new tools and workflows
  • Like figuring things out without being told every step
  • Enjoy testing tools, workflows, AI products, and automation
  • Get energy from seeing real users respond to what you build
  • Think in systems, not just tasks
  • Are comfortable working in English (written & spoken)
  • Can explain why you did something not just what you did

Bonus:

  • You don't need to be a designer, but you should have a good sense of what looks clean and trustworthy.
  • A strong interest in tech products, data analytics, or coding. You don't need to be a developer, but a curiosity about how software is built under the hood is a huge plus.

You don't need to be perfect.

  • You do need curiosity, initiative, and comfort with ambiguity.

Growth Path & Benefits

  • Direct mentorship from the CEO and senior team
  • Real ownership from Day 1 your work goes live
  • Exposure to multiple departments: marketing, ops, product, growth
  • Clear performance-based growth path:
  • Strong performers can transition into Growth, Marketing, Ops, Product, or Strategy roles
  • High-learning environment: 3 months here = real startup experience
  • Supportive but high-standards team we build fast and learn faster

This is a role for someone who wants to grow with the company, not just add a line to their CV.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Allowance:4,600,000 VND / month (prorated by actual working hours).
  • Growth Bonus: Allowance increases by 1,000,000 VND every 4 months of working.
  • The YC Playbook: Learn how Silicon Valley startups build and scale products.
  • Real Impact: You will see your ideas go live and directly affect the user experience for thousands of people.
  • Mentorship: Work closely with the Founder and Product team.

Application Process

We keep the process practical and signal-driven:

  1. Application form + short task
  2. AI interview - We care more about how you think and learn than how fancy your CV looks.
  3. Offline interview(s) with the team

If there's a fit, we move fast shortlisted candidates hear back within 13 business days.
