Role purpose
The Market & Business Intelligence Manager bridges the gap between technical R&D expertise and strategic market analysis. This role leverages a deep understanding of food science/ingredients to identify growth opportunities, monitor competitors, and provide data-driven recommendations to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Market strategy & opportunity mapping: analyze market trends, consumer behaviors, and category growth to identify high-potential expansion areas. Define the Jobs to Be Done (JTBD) for Business Units.
- Competitive & predictive intelligence: build and manage a database for tracking competitor movements, pricing, and distribution. Utilize predictive tools to forecast demand and market shifts.
- R&D-driven portfolio development: conduct consumer-centric research to guide innovation. Collaborate with Principal Development teams to translate technical product features into market-ready solutions.
- Strategic reporting: synthesize complex data into actionable insights for the CEO group. Provide optimization strategies for new SKU launches and project performance.
- Resilience & profitability: use BI insights to drive margin improvements and ensure long-term competitiveness in local and regional markets.
Requirements
- R&D foundation: minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in research & development (R&D) within the food or chemical ingredients industry.
- Leadership experience: 8+ years of total professional experience, with at least 3-5 years in managerial capacity.
- Educational background: International degree in Chemistry, Food Technology, Finance, or Economics.
- Analytical prowess: proven ability to translate technical laboratory/product knowledge into business intelligence and market strategy.
- Communication: exceptional presentation skills; able to engage and influence senior-level stakeholders.
- Strategic Mindset: strong problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying market issues and opportunities (I&O).
