Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Viettel Complex Building, 285 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Hoa Hung, Ho Chi Minh
Duration: 12 months (Fixed term)
Job responsibilities
- Influence product definition and architecture selection, in close collaboration with product design teams, via early design for manufacturing engagement in the areas of precision electronic assembly, automation, sealing, adhesives, metal fabrication and finishing, injection molding, and leak testing.
- Develop manufacturing processes and fixtures, in close collaboration with manufacturing partners and equipment providers, via specification, design, prototyping, fabrication, and validation of manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, flexibility, and scalability via analysis, simulation, and planning of workflow, space requirements, production capacity, and equipment layout.
- Identify, investigate, analyze, and integrate new manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment.
Minimum qualifications
You must meet these minimum qualifications to apply for this job
- Bachelor's in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years in manufacturing engineering within a CM/ODM consumer electronics environment
- Hands-on experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) from design handoff through mass production ramp
- Proficiency in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) — precision assembly, sealing, adhesives, injection moulding
- Led specification, development & validation of manufacturing fixtures, equipment and process flows
- Experience collaborating with design teams early in the HW lifecycle (pre-EVT/DVT/PVT)
- Working knowledge of yield analysis, process capability studies (Cpk), DOE
- Familiarity with CM/ODM factory environments in Asia (preferably Foxconn, Pegatron, Wistron, Samsung, or equivalent)
- Ability to travel to Asia-based manufacturing partners and be on-site during builds
Preferred qualifications
Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable
- Master's in Mechanical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Direct Google Pixel, Apple iPhone, or Samsung Galaxy program experience
- Proficiency in NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks CAD tools
- Experience with GRR (Gauge R&R), tolerance stack-up / stack analysis
- Exposure to metal fabrication, CNC machining, and precision cosmetic finishing
- Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above)
- Experience with leak testing, ultrasonic welding, laser welding processes
- Multilingual: Mandarin or Vietnamese is a plus for CM partner collaboration
