Scope of Responsibilities
Includes responsibilities in three areas: corporate legal affairs, EPCI project legal affairs, and risk management & insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal & Compliance Department
Acts as the focal point for legal and compliance management, including:
- Developing and implementing the company-wide legal and compliance framework and resources.
- Updating, disseminating, and communicating laws and internal regulations; issuing periodic legal bulletins.
- Building and managing the legal and regulatory document library.
- Drafting, reviewing, and providing legal input on the Charter, internal regulations, and governance documents.
- Providing legal advice and compliance guidance to ensure adherence to laws and internal rules.
- Monitoring, inspecting, and reporting on legal and regulatory compliance.
- Contributing to policy and legal development; identifying gaps and proposing improvements.
- Coordinating legal compliance reviews, internal audits, and inspections across subsidiaries and invested entities.
- Proposing improvements to professional standards, processes, and digital transformation in legal work.
- Providing and coordinating legal training; developing legal personnel.
- Acting as the focal point for inspections, complaints, and investigations related to legal compliance.
Project & Contract Legal Department
Acts as the focal point for legal advisory services related to the company's operations and business activities, including:
- Providing legal advice and risk assessment for production and business activities (corporate governance, restructuring, HR, procurement and bidding, investments, projects, guarantees, secured transactions, contracts, partnerships, IP, finance, etc.).
- Participating in negotiation, drafting, review, and appraisal of contracts and agreements.
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks in business and service activities.
- Supporting project teams, task forces, councils, and committees.
- Coordinating the engagement of external legal counsel.
- Handling disputes and representing or arranging legal representation to protect the company's lawful rights and interests.
Other duties as assigned by the Head of the Legal Department.
Risk Management & Insurance Department
Risk Management
- Developing and implementing the enterprise risk management system.
- Guiding and monitoring risk management implementation across the company.
- Coordinating and supporting units and projects on risk-related matters.
- Organizing risk management training and promoting a risk-aware culture.
- Acting as the focal point for external inspections and assessments related to risk management.
Insurance
- Arranging insurance for assets, personnel, and other required insurance programs.
- Procuring group insurance programs to optimize coverage and premiums.
- Proposing insurance solutions aligned with business operations.
- Advising and supporting units on insurance matters.
- Handling insurance claims and compensation.
- Acting as the focal point for external inspections and assessments related to insurance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in risk management and corporate legal affairs; experience in the energy sector (oil & gas, offshore, onshore, renewable energy) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in legal review and negotiation of EPCI contracts.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly, and manage multiple priorities.
- Leadership experience with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
