Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing import/export operations, customs compliance, transportation, and logistics activities to ensure the timely movement of materials and finished goods while maintaining compliance with Vietnamese regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Import/Export & Customs Operations
- Manage and coordinate import and export activities, including customs clearance procedures.
- Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documents such as Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Vietnam Customs regulations, trade compliance requirements, and company policies.
- Support customs audits, post-clearance inspections, and annual customs finalization yearly reporting.
- Monitor and update changes in customs regulations, import/export policies, and trade agreements.
2. Logistics & Transportation Management
- Coordinate domestic and international transportation of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Monitor shipment status and ensure on-time delivery.
- Work closely with Procurement, Planning, Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Finance teams.
- Resolve logistics issues related to delays, shortages, damaged goods, or transportation disruptions.
- Manage logistics service providers and ensure service quality and performance.
3. Cost Control & Process Improvement
- Monitor logistics and transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Analyze logistics performance and recommend process improvements.
- Support initiatives to optimize inventory flow, transportation efficiency, and supply chain performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects related to logistics and supply chain operations.
4. Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logistics and customs records.
- Prepare logistics, import/export, and customs finalization yearly reports.
- Ensure compliance with EPE regulations and customs requirements, where applicable.
- Support internal and external audits related to logistics, customs, and trade compliance.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Foreign Trade, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Logistics, Import/Export, Customs Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing company, FDI enterprise, or EPE is highly preferred.
- Experience handling customs clearance, import/export documentation, and trade compliance activities.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Vietnam Customs regulations, HS Classification, Rules of Origin, Incoterms, and international trade practices.
- Familiarity with VNACCS/VCIS and ERP systems such as SAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English is required. Chinese language proficiency is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in EMS or high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of EPE operations, customs settlement, duty exemption programs, and trade compliance requirements.
- Professional certifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, Customs, or International Trade are an advantage.
