Job title: LOGISTICS MANAGER
Job purpose: The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end shipping, and import–export (IMEX) activities for a manufacturing company in Vietnam. The role ensures compliance with Vietnamese laws and customs regulations, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement of logistics operations while leading and developing the logistics team.
Job summary:
1. People Management
· Lead and manage the logistics and IMEX teams, including supervisors and staff.
· Assign daily tasks, manage manpower planning, and work schedules.
· Coach, train, and develop team members; build training plans to improve skills and compliance knowledge.
· Conduct performance evaluations, skill mapping, and KPI reviews.
· Support recruitment and onboarding when required.

2. Logistics & Distribution Management
· Manage local transportation and distribution operations, including contracts with 3PLs/transporters and invoice approval.
· Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure OTIF performance and cost efficiency.
· Monitor daily delivery operations, analyse service issues, and implement corrective actions.
· Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce logistics costs and improve service levels.

3. Import & Export (IMEX) Management
· Take full responsibility for all import and export activities, ensuring smooth customs clearance without delays.
· Manage customs procedures for Export Processing Enterprises (EPE), including declaration types such as E42, E11, E15, A12, A31, B13, etc.
· Handle customs declarations via VNACCS/ECUS systems.
· Prepare and submit:
o Annual customs liquidation reports
o Quarterly set-off reports in compliance with Customs regulations
o Review and verify all IMEX documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, COO, COC, HS code)
o Work closely with Customs Brokers, Forwarders, Purchasing, Accounting
o Stay updated on Vietnam government regulations, customs law, and Incoterms, and ensure correct application in operations
o Verify inbound freight charges and IMEX-related costs before payment
4. Forwarder & Service Provider Management
· Act as the main contact with forwarders, brokers, and service providers regarding shipment status, quotations, lead time, and issue resolution.
· Evaluate, select, and negotiate with new and existing forwarders to obtain competitive rates and reliable services.
· Ensure safe, timely, and compliant transportation for all shipments, including DG cargo
5. Reporting, Compliance & Improvement
· Prepare weekly and monthly logistics performance reports.
· Present departmental performance results to Management monthly.
· Attend daily operational meetings (e.g. FDR).
· Ensure compliance with ISO QMS and other relevant certifications.
· Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory agencies when required
Job Requirements:
· Education & Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
o Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics/supply chain within a manufacturing company
o Strong hands-on experience in Import–Export and Customs operations
· Skills & Knowledge
o Solid knowledge of Vietnam Customs Law, EPE regulations, VNACCS/ECUS, Incoterms.
o Experience working with forwarders, customs brokers, and authorities.
o Good leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
o Strong cost control and data analysis ability.
o Good English communication skills
