Job Description

Wahl Vietnam is a subsidiary of Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Local Purchasing Specialist.

Reporting : Wahl Vietnam's Materials Planning & Inventory Control Manager

Missions :

Be responsible for planning, purchasing, and controlling all local materials to ensure stable supply for production while maintaining the lowest possible inventory level. The role manages the full procurement cycle-material planning, forecasting, purchase order management, supplier communication, delivery control, inventory optimization (excess, aging, obsolete, block stock), and D365 system transactions. Close collaboration with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Logistics, and Accounting ensures uninterrupted material flow and strong inventory performance.

Responsibilities:

Material Planning & Forecasting

  • Create weekly and monthly material plans based on production schedules and demand.
  • Provide updated purchasing forecasts to suppliers for capacity and raw material preparation.
  • Review and adjust safety stock levels monthly to avoid shortages and overstock.
  • Identify potential supply risks early and implement preventive actions.

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Review planned and firm POs in D365; issue accurate purchase orders to all local suppliers.
  • Follow up and expedite suppliers to achieve 100% on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery.
  • Maintain strong communication with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and urgent requirements.
  • Coordinate supplier support for sorting or rework when necessary.

Delivery Control & Logistics Coordination

  • Track weekly delivery schedules and obtain delivery confirmations from suppliers.
  • Update Production Planning promptly to ensure production issuance accuracy.
  • Resolve issues related to late delivery, missing quantity, incorrect shipping documents, or logistics disruptions.
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for all incoming local materials.

Inventory Control & Stock Optimization

  • Monitor and control excess inventory and propose reduction and prevention actions.
  • Analyze aging stock to prevent items from turning obsolete.
  • Coordinate obsolete stock handling - including root cause analysis and clearance actions.
  • Take ownership of blocked stock: work with Quality & suppliers for return, replacement, or disposal.
  • Track slow-moving materials and propose preventive actions.
  • Conduct monthly inventory health analysis and report to the Materials Manager.

Quality Issue Resolution

  • Work with Quality Control and Warehouse teams to resolve incoming material quality issues.
  • Coordinate supplier returns, replacements, and corrective actions until closure.
  • Support investigations into recurring quality or delivery issues affecting production flow.

D365 System & Documentation Management

  • Create and update all POs, and related transactions in D365 accurately and on time.
  • Prepare complete payment documentation including PO, GRN, supplier invoices, and supporting files.
  • Maintain organized records of forecasts, deliveries, inventory data, and supplier transactions.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Planning, Production, Warehouse, QC, Logistics, and Accounting to support stable material flow.
  • Assist the Materials Manager with reports, supplier performance reviews, and improvement initiatives.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Materials Manager

Qualifications:

  • University/College degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar position within manufacturing environment (preferably multinational).
  • Ability to deal with Suppliers
  • Strong understanding of domestic purchasing processes and supplier management
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably D365).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good English communication (speaking, listening, writing).
  • Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity, transparency, and strong work ethics.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Positive attitude and continuous improvement mindset
  • Bi-lingual with good reading, writing & negotiation skills in English & Vietnamese
