ROLE PURPOSE
To partner closely with the business and ensure all legal operations run smoothly, while contributing to the development of a strong legal foundation for future growth and expansion in Vietnam and international markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
Legal Business Partnering:
- Provide clear, practical legal advice to support day-to-day business decisions
- Balance legal risks with commercial priorities
- Partner with business teams to review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements (including international partners and distributors)
External Counsel Coordination:
- Act as the main contact for external law firms (local and international)
- Coordinate on legal matters across jurisdictions
- Monitor timelines, deliverables, and quality of outputs
Expansion Activities:
- In charge of legal aspects of new market entries and international projects
- Work with external advisors on regulatory and entity setup requirements
- Be representative from Legal to join strategic expansion project as cross-functional taskforce team
Compliance & Risk Control:
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
- Identify potential risks in contracts and operations, including cross-border risks, and escalate when needed
- Maintain and update internal legal and compliance documents
Legal Operations & Administration:
- Manage day-to-day legal operations across the company
- Maintain and organize legal documentation, templates, and contract database
- Ensure proper record-keeping and document control, including for cross-border agreements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)
- Practical, business-oriented mindset
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese
Preferable Requirements
- Exposure to cross-border or international legal matters
- Experience in FMCG, retail, or manufacturing environments
- Experience in improving legal processes and templates
