Lead transition activities from a legal perspective related to transfer of ODC from existing supplier to the Company and advise, manage and monitor transition program
Proactively collaborate with other internal stakeholders, including Technology, P&C and Finance, in relation to the transition activities
Lead, advise, manage and monitor corporate, regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to the Company including drafting and implementing policies and procedures
Advise on general commercial matters, including intellectual property, employment, property and corporate law
Advise, manage and monitor Vietnam GDPR/data protection compliance program and related issues across the business including customer and supplier contract arrangements, staff training and issue management
Assist with insurance program
Identify pragmatic and proactive solutions to mitigate risks as well as meet commercial needs
Develop strong and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Provide education and training to the business
Keep up to date with relevant legislative changes
Effectively communicate information and insights to the team
Ensure successful communication/work with all areas of the business
Contribute to continuous improvement in project methodologies, processes and supporting tools
Participate in team meetings to bring up issues, share knowledge, share achievements, and provide training and direction
Comply with all local legislative requirements
Adhere to company policies and procedures and the corporate Code of Conduct
Ensure personal adherence to workplace health and safety requirements and either addresses or brings to management's attention when others are in breach of these requirements
Act in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people
Qualifications
Bachelor's decree in Law. Appropriate licensed/authorization to act as a lawyer
At least 5 years at law firm or as an in-house counsel
Sound knowledge of law relevant to information technology contracts including SaaS arrangements
Knowledge of Vietnam data protection regimes
Strong stakeholder management experience
Ability to provide commercially-focused and pragmatic legal advice
Current or prior experience working at a mid to high-level law firm or technology vendor or financial services organization
Ability to be flexible with working hours
Experienced sole or lead lawyer
Experience in other areas of law such as UK GDPR, Australian Privacy Laws, employment law is preferred
Experience in implementing AI and automation tools is preferred.
