Vietbank is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel – Litigation to join our Legal Division and handle litigation, dispute resolution and legal risk management matters arising from banking operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle and provide legal support for disputes arising from Vietbank's banking and non-credit activities at Courts, Arbitration and other competent authorities.
- Participate in litigation involving credit-related disputes where Vietbank acts as a defendant or a party with related rights and obligations, excluding debt recovery litigation.
- Review case files, assess legal risks and determine Vietbank's position and litigation strategy.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to protect Vietbank's legitimate rights and interests.
- Prepare petitions, submissions, legal documents, arguments, evidence and other litigation-related documents.
- Participate in court hearings, working sessions and proceedings as assigned or authorized.
- Coordinate with business units, internal stakeholders and external law firms throughout dispute resolution.
- Monitor case progress, manage litigation records and provide regular/ad-hoc reports to Legal Management.
- Analyze the root causes of disputes and recommend preventive measures to mitigate legal risks.
- Develop and deliver internal legal updates, training and knowledge sharing on litigation risks and lessons learned.
- Review and provide comments on draft legislation and internal regulations related to litigation and banking operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Legal Management.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree or above in Law.
- Lawyer training/certification or Lawyer's Practicing Certificate is an advantage.
- Experience working with Courts, Procuracies or other legal authorities is preferred.
Experience
- Team Leader: Minimum 4 years of experience in legal/compliance roles within banking or financial institutions; team management experience is preferred.
- Senior Legal Counsel: Minimum 5 years of experience in banking/financial legal practice.
- Legal Specialist: Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience depending on grade.
- Candidates with relevant legal/litigation experience are encouraged to apply.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of Vietnamese law, banking regulations and litigation procedures.
- Solid understanding of banking products, operations and legal risks.
- Strong experience in litigation, dispute resolution and legal case management.
- Excellent legal research, analysis and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong drafting and legal argumentation skills.
- Good negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess legal risks and recommend practical solutions.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
