We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join the core backend team behind ZingMP3, Vietnam's leading music streaming platform.
In this role, you will be the technical anchor for a critical part of our system. You will be responsible for defining technical direction, architecting, building, and operating robust, highly scalable backend services that power music streaming for millions of active users.
Role Description
- Architecture & System Design: Drive the technical vision and architect highly scalable, resilient, and performant microservices and APIs to serve our massive user base.
- Build & Implement: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (primarily in Java) while establishing coding standards across the team.
- Performance & Reliability: Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks. Ensure low latency, high throughput, and high availability for core media services.
- Operational Excellence: Design comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems. Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex production incidents.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Act as a technical mentor for Senior and Junior engineers. Lead technical sub-projects, conduct rigorous code reviews, and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams (Mobile, Web, Data) in an Agile environment to translate business requirements into high-impact technical solutions.
- CI/CD & Automation: Champion DevOps practices, owning and continuously improving deployment pipelines for rapid, reliable feature delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- At least 4+ years of professional software development experience as a Backend Engineer, with proven experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java (or similar backend languages) with deep knowledge of OOP, common design patterns, and multithreading/asynchronous programming.
- Strong algorithmic foundation, data structures, and problem-solving mindset.
- Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining high-traffic RESTful APIs, gRPC, and/or Thrift services.
