We need a true expert who can take full ownership of mold design and casting simulation.
Role Description
This is an on-site contract role for a Lead Iron Casting Simulation & Mold Design Engineer, located nearby Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In this role, you will lead and oversee the simulation and design of molds for iron casting. Responsibilities include performing casting simulations, ensuring efficient mold designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing metallurgical properties, making 3D samples, and implementing advanced casting processes in a logic of continuous improvement. You will work closely with production teams to ensure high-quality outputs meet technical and project specifications.
Your profile:
- 515 years of hands-on experience in metal casting (preferable for Iron malleable, gray iron & ductile).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in Casting methods, Metal Casting, and Die Casting processes
- Knowledge of Simulation techniques and tools to optimize mold design and casting operations
- Expert user of simulation software as icast, Magmasoft or equivalent professional simulation software (ProCAST, icast,FLOW-3D CAST, AnyCasting, NovaFlow&Solid, etc.)
- Full command of SolidWorks for mold and core design; additional experience in other software is welcome.
- Proven track record of reducing defects, improving yield and accelerating new product introduction through simulation-driven design and prototyping.
- Knowledgeable in Project Management
- Knowledge of fittings and valves (ideal but not essential)
- Strong understanding of Metallurgy principles and their practical applications in casting
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to manage projects effectively
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Fluent technical English (mandatory)
