Lead Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Primary System Design

Responsibilities may include:

• Development of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
• Substation and switchyard layouts, including section views
• Earthing and lightning protection system design
• Conductor and busbar sizing
• Technical reviews and design coordination

Secondary System Design

Responsibilities may include:

• Protection and metering single line diagrams
• Control and protection schematics
• Termination drawings
• Control and protection panel design
• Relay protection and metering integration

Technical Studies (Preferred Experience)

Experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:

• Load flow studies
• Short-circuit analysis
• Protection coordination studies
• Arc flash assessments
• Earthing and lightning system analysis
• EMC/EMI studies
• Electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies
• Equipment specification development
• Cable thermal rating and sizing calculations

Experience using power system modelling and analysis software is desirable.

Leadership & Project Delivery

• Lead engineering design activities and technical reviews.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and review technical reports and engineering documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experienced in high-voltage substation, transmission, or distribution engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical design for utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering standards and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated project leadership and team management capability.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
