Team Leadership & Delivery: Lead and mentor a team of 3-6 Data Engineers; oversee daily execution, Agile/Scrum sprints, code reviews, and technical standards enforcement.
Technical Ownership: Drive the architectural evolution of GGG's Data Lakehouse platform (MinIO, Iceberg, Trino, Airflow, Dbt on K8s), ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary technical bridge between Data Engineering and Business/Analytics teams (Marketing, Finance, Operations) to translate business needs into scalable technical roadmaps.
Cost & Performance Optimization: Continually optimize data infrastructure costs (On-prem K8s resources) and pipeline execution time for scale across 600+ restaurants.
Technical Advisory & Mentorship: Serve as the ultimate technical authority for complex data engineering challenges; mentor Senior/Lead engineers across the organization.
Qualifications For Lead Data Engineer At GGG
6+ years of total experience in Data Engineering, with at least 1-2+ years in a leadership/mentorship role (Lead/Tech Lead).
Having a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or another related field.
Wide knowledge about software products using in F&B field is a plus.
Should Also Have Experience With The Following Software/tools/platforms
Enterprise Architecture: Proven experience designing and operating Data Lakehouse / Data Warehouse / Data Mesh at scale (handling multi-terabyte/petabyte datasets or streaming data).
Data Governance & Security: Strong expertise in enterprise security, RBAC/ABAC (e.g., Apache Ranger, Immuta), and compliance policies (GDPR/Personal Data Protection Decree 13).
FinOps & Resource Optimization: Deep understanding of resource allocation, query optimization, and cost tuning for engines like Spark, Trino, and Kubernetes clusters.
Soft Skills & Leadership: Outstanding strategic thinking, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and ability to influence technical decisions at executive levels.
Proven experience working with data stacks hosted on Kubernetes. Familiarity with configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting pods/containers using Helm, kubectl, and Docker is highly preferred.
