Responsabilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, bridging business and technology by shaping data strategy, defining scalable architectures, and driving alignment through clear communication of progress, risks, and business outcomes.
- Lead and grow a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Architect and build modern cloud-native data platforms (Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses).
- Develop robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern frameworks (Airflow, Glue, DBT, etc.).
- Build and manage real-time data ingestion and streaming solutions with Kafka, Flink, or Apache Beam.
- Drive best practices in writing high-quality SQL and Python code, while overseeing performance optimization and scalability of data systems across projects.
- Collaborate with DevOps and cloud architects to deploy scalable solutions on AWS (or GCP/Azure).
- Work closely with CTO and CEO in strategic decisions, including technology roadmap and best practices.
- Stay ahead of technology trends and recommend new approaches for data strategy and architecture.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud data architecture, or related roles.
- Strong business & analytics mindset — you understand how data drives decisions, not just systems.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience working with clients or business stakeholders (beyond internal teams), ideally with exposure to domains such as Financial Services, E-commerce/Retail, or SaaS/Technology.
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with a disciplined coding mindset.
- Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Luigi.
- Experience with modern data integration tools (Fivetran, Airbyte, Talend, or AWS Glue)
- Solid background working with query engines and processing frameworks (Presto, Flink, PySpark, or DBT)
- Understanding of modern databases and real-time data systems (Redshift, MongoDB, Kafka, and PostgreSQL)
