Job Overview
The Lead Backend Developer (Core Banking) is responsible for leading the design and development of backend services for the core banking platform. This role defines technical architecture, system integration, and engineering standards to ensure high availability, security, and scalability of banking systems.

You will guide engineering teams while working closely with system architects, product teams, and DevOps to deliver modern and reliable core banking solutions.
You will help build and operate mission-critical backend services supporting high-volume financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership
Lead the design and development of backend services integrating with Temenos T24 core banking systems.
Define technical architecture and engineering standards for core banking integrations.
Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Identify technical risks and propose scalable solutions.
2. Core Banking System Development
Design and build scalable backend services supporting financial transactions and banking operations.
Develop secure APIs and integration services connecting banking platforms with external systems.
Ensure system reliability and performance for high-volume transaction processing.
3. System Architecture & Integration
Collaborate with architects to design integrations between core banking systems, digital banking platforms, and payment services.
Ensure system security through authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.
Support deployment and operations with DevOps teams.
4. Other Responsibilities
Contribute to system architecture planning and technical roadmap development.
Improve engineering processes and development practices.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications
Minimum 6+ years of software development experience with 4+ years in Core Banking (Temenos T24 or similar).
Strong expertise in Java backend development.
Experience working with additional backend languages such as Golang, Node.js, or Python.
Experience designing scalable financial systems and banking integrations.
Strong understanding of banking architecture, security, and transaction systems.
Leadership or mentoring experience.
Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance development productivity and system design is a strong advantage.
