Responsibilities
As a Lead Analytics Engineer at Joon Solutions, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, client-focused data solutions while also supporting our sales team through pre-sales activities. You will work closely with clients to understand their business needs, design data architectures, and lead teams to build robust, scalable data pipelines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Client Engagement & Pre-Sales Support (20%): Collaborate with the sales team to participate in pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, scoping, and crafting proposals that meet client needs. Help translate business challenges into technical requirements.
- Design & Develop Client Solutions: Architect and deliver tailored data solutions that meet specific client business objectives, using modern data stack technologies (dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.). Ensure that solutions are designed for scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Lead Client Projects: Serve as the project manager for client engagements, working directly with client teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions. Ensure alignment between client expectations and technical deliverables.
- Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of analytics engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence. Empower the team to deliver exceptional data solutions for clients.
- Data Governance & Security: Advocate for data governance best practices, ensuring that client data solutions are secure, compliant with regulations, and follow best practices for data privacy and protection.
- Client Communication: Build strong relationships with clients by communicating project progress, addressing any concerns, and ensuring solutions are aligned with their business objectives.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data engineering, analytics, and cloud technologies, and drive the adoption of new methodologies and tools to benefit our clients.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise with at least one of the three major cloud providers (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure) and their data technologies, such as BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse. Experience with Snowflake is also a plus.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, with a track record of leading teams and delivering successful client projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and building scalable data pipelines.
- Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools in a cloud-based environment.
- Proven ability to work directly with stakeholders to gather business requirements, develop technical specifications, and deliver solutions that align with their business goals.
- Experience building and leading teams, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and foster professional growth.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide technical solutions that meet client needs.
- Consulting experience is a plus, particularly with global or enterprise-level clients.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau is an advantage.
