Job Description

Main objective:

The Launch Manager is the key interface between the Program Manager or Key Account Manager and the operations organization and as such is an integral part of any program organization. The Launch Manager leads the Operations organization to ensure Launch Readiness and fulfill its program obligations for quality, performance, cost, and timeliness.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional Operations teams to support Program Managers in achieving program objectives and managing new product launches. Key departments include Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Maintenance, Production, Sample Technicians, HSE, and Quality.
  • Provide technical support during New Business Acquisition and New Product Introduction, including:
  • Manufacturing feasibility analysis
  • Inputs for cost calculation (output rates, operators, OEE, scrap)
  • Resource and capacity planning
  • Equipment/tool investment planning
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Supply critical information (equipment, tools, material usage, cycle times, manpower, quality documents) to enable other departments to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Managers, Key Account Managers, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Quality.
  • Manage external communications with customers and suppliers regarding project timing, installation plans, technical proposals, and audits.
  • Ensure global best practices are considered and implemented across KA locations; align new equipment investments with product/technology roadmaps.
  • Oversee preparation of project tools (Control Plans, PFMEA, Work Instructions).
  • Ensure adherence to project budgets and provide financial forecasts/alternatives during New Product Introduction.
  • Organize production of parts for build events using offline and mass-production processes.
  • Coordinate design changes or product enhancements during New Product Introduction, ensuring BOM and inventory are properly managed to minimize cost

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Familiar with core quality tools: MSA, SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP
  1. Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in automotive industry as Project Manager, Launch Manager, Quality or Production Engineer
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive, self-motivated, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Solid project management, analytical, and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to work across all organizational levels
  • Professional communication skills for interaction with customers and suppliers
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance principles
